Croatia Waterfalls

Croatia has some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.

Cetina Dam Overflow Waterfall

Waterfall GPS: 43.43223, 16.885763

The hydropower dam on Cetina River at the mouth of the river overflows and makes a nice waterfall at the end of the canyon.  It's technically not a real waterfall, but I thought it was really pretty.  We did canyoning on Cetina River with Adventure Dalmatia tours.  I'm not sure if you could visit this one on your own.

Galovački Buk

Waterfall GPS: 44.87607, 15.60855

Galovački Buk is a 16-m waterfall on Lake Galovac in the Upper Lakes of Plitvice National Park.  I think this is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.  From entrance 2 of the park, take short boat ride across Lake Kozjak from P1 to P2.  From here, follow the boardwalk trail as it heads up along the Upper Lakes.  You'll pass some smaller waterfalls and the beautiful turquoise lakes before reaching the waterfall in just under 2 km.

Mali Prštavac

Waterfall GPS: 44.87728, 15.60842

Mali Prštavac is a 18-m waterfall on Lake Galovac in the Upper Lakes of Plitvice National Park.  From entrance 2 of the park, take short boat ride across Lake Kozjak from P1 to P2.  From here, follow the boardwalk trail as it heads up along the Upper Lakes.  You'll pass some smaller waterfalls and the beautiful turquoise lakes before reaching the waterfall in just under 1 km.

Milanovački Slap

Waterfall GPS: 44.89469, 15.60854

Milanovački Slap is a 10-m waterfall on Lake Galovac in the Lower Lakes of Plitvice National Park.  From entrance 1 of the park, follow the lakes upstream and take one of the trails that heads down to lake level.  Milanovački Slap is at the head of Lake Milanovac.

Veliki Prštavac

Waterfall GPS: 44.87805, 15.60827

Veliki Prštavac is a 28-m waterfall on Lake Galovac in the Upper Lakes of Plitvice National Park.  It is the second highest waterfall in Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Veliki Slap

Waterfall GPS: 44.90242, 15.60803

Veliki Slap is a 78-m waterfall on Plitvica River at the confluence with Korana River.  It is the highest waterfall in Plitvice Lakes National Park.  From entrance 1, follow the path down to towards the river.  There are several oerlooks on the way to see the entire waterfall.  Down at river level, follow the boardwalks to get an up close view from the base, though you can't see the entire thing.
