Falls Lake

It was a little rainy this weekend, but I still managed to get some hiking in at Falls Lake.  Saturday morning, I had my car worked on and while they were doing that, Sandy and I hiked Section 1 from Falls Dam to Raven Ridge Road.  It rained briefly and lightly when we got near Raven Ridge Road, but stopped soon after we turned around.  This morning, I led the next in the series of Falls Lake hikes at Section 14.  We parked just outside Rolling View at the hiking parking lot.  The rain lightened up by the time we got there so we didn't get wet at all.  We followed the spur trail to Section 14 and followed the trail to the new bridge over Little Lick Creek.  The ramps leading up to the bridge were completed this week, so it was perfect timing.  We crossed the bridge, took a couple pictures and headed back.  Back at the parking lot, we walked a little ways in Rolling View to see an eagle nest, but unfortunately, we couldn't see the eagle.
