Hot Walk at Lake Lynn

posted Jul 26, 2011, 4:09 PM by Justin P
After work, Sandy and I took a walk around Lake Lynn.  It was quite hot, but slightly less so than the past few days in Raleigh.  We could tell that there hasn't been much rain lately.  Along the northern end of the lake, much of the lake bed was dried up and exposed.  We saw a green heron wading in the shallow water looking for small fish to eat, along with the usual ducks and geese.  They seemed to be hungry; I bet people haven't been feeding them due to the heat.  On the way back we saw a little baby bunny munching grass.  I will update the map and photos on the main page.

This weekend, I'm going camping at Hanging Rock.  It will be the first time I've been camping in some time and I'm excited to go.  I started a page for the park and will upload some pictures and maps after my trip.
